Where is ARTBOX Cafe located?
We are located at 5-6 East Street in the seaside city of Brighton, on the south coast of the UK. Brighton is a one hour train ride from London, and the cafe is a 15 minute walk away from Brighton station.
We are also less than a 5 minute walk from the world famous Brighton Pier, and the stunning Royal Pavilion! We are located towards the beach end of East Street, down from Lush and Toni & Guy.
There are various car parks nearby although these can be quite pricey, and alternatively there is a Park & Ride.

Can I book a table?
We take walk-ins as well as advance bookings - click here to book a table online. You can book up until opening time on the day itself and after that it's walk-ins only.
We operate a "virtual queue" system for walk-ins on busy days. When you arrive and request a table, our staff will assign you the earliest available slot and let you know the time your table will be ready. This allows you to enjoy Brighton during your wait time, without losing your place in the queue!
Your position in the queue will depend on how many tables have already been requested on that day.
If there's no queue you'll be seated immediately. Please refer to the section near the bottom of this page to see when our quietest times are.

What if I want take out drinks and ice cream?
We offer hot and cold drinks and ice cream cones and cups to take away 7 days a week, in cute character themed packaging! Our delicious ice cream is all handmade on site.
You can even customise your ice cream with sauces and add-on toppings, including special custom character printed wafers!

When are you closing / when does the current theme end?
ARTBOX Cafe is not a pop-up - we are permanent, so we're here to stay! However our character theme will change every 1-2 years, along with our menu, so there's always good reasons to keep returning to check out what's new.
Our current theme is Hello Kitty & Friends, which will be running through into 2023. Be sure to follow @artbox_cafe on social media to stay up to date with theme changes and other news as soon as it's announced.

What food items do you offer on your menu?
Our take out menu offers delicious ice cream which is made on site, hot chocolate, coffee, a range of hand blended speciality teas, chai latte, matcha latte, refreshing mocktails, popping bubble ice tea, and fresh milkshakes made from our ice creams.
Our sit down menu currently offers themed ice cream sundaes, waffles and other desserts, burgers, bagels, curry and avocado toast, as well as all of the drinks listed above - served in cute cups, with a free drinks coaster that you can take home with you! Please note that the 1st floor seating area is for our sit down menu only, and we ask for guests using this area to be ordering a food item each.

What are your prices like?
The sweet food items on our sit down menu range from £8.50 to £9.50, savoury food items range from £8.00 to £13.50, and drinks range from £2.50 to £5.00. Take out ice cream starts at £2.90.

Do you cater to vegans?
Yes, we have many vegan items on our menu! Look out for the "Ve Option" symbol, and be sure to let your serving staff know that you would like your food to be made vegan.
We also offer a range of dairy free milks for hot drinks, and dairy free cream for milkshakes, all at no extra cost.
The take out ice cream selection always contains around half vegan flavours.

Do you have any gluten free options?
Yes, over half of our menu is available as gluten free! Look out for the "GF Option" symbol, and be sure to let your serving staff know that you would like your food to be made gluten free.
The majority of our take out ice cream selection is gluten free too.
Please note that our gluten free menu items are free of gluten as an ingredient, however if you are severely intolerant please speak to your server - although every care is taken during food preparation, it isn’t possible
to guarantee the absence of certain allergens in trace form.

Do you cater to people with allergies?
Our sit down menu has symbols to indicate which items can be made vegan (which will also be suitable for people with lactose intolerance or dairy allergies) and which ones can be made gluten free.
Our take out ice cream selection also has symbols to indicate whether each flavour is vegan and/or gluten free.
For other types of allergies, please ask your server for assistance, and we can provide a full list of allergenic ingredients for each item.
If you are severely allergic, please note that although every care is taken during food preparation, it unfortunately isn’t possible to guarantee the absence of certain allergens in trace form.

Is ARTBOX Cafe wheelchair accessible?
All of the shopping opportunities and the take out counter are located on the ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible. Due to building restrictions it is unfortunately not possible for a lift to be installed to the first floor seating area,
however we are able to set up a window table on the ground floor for wheelchair users to enjoy our sit down menu. Please tick the check box "Step free accessible table required" when making your booking. We look forward to welcoming you!

Is ARTBOX Cafe dog friendly?
Team ARTBOX loves dogs, and Brighton is full of cute ones! We welcome small and well-behaved dogs, and during quieter periods we
be able to accomodate medium pups too, depending on space. Assistance dogs are welcome at all times.

When are your quietest periods?
As ARTBOX Cafe is the UK's first dedicated character themed cafe, we can get pretty busy at times and this can be a bit unpredictable as many factors come into play including the weather, day of the week, public holidays etc.
If you are looking to visit when it is quiet, we would advise to visit on weekdays, and avoid weekends and bank holidays. We will also tend to be quieter during school term times. For the best chance of securing a table to enjoy our sit down menu, we would recommend booking a table or arriving as early in the day as possible on busy days.

Who and what are ARTBOX?
ARTBOX is an independent UK-based company made up of a small and very passionate team of people. You may have met some of our core team members manning our pop-up booths at events, serving you in our Covent Garden shop, or delivering sundaes to your table in Brighton!
We are dedicated to working with cute characters and brands to provide amazing and happy experiences for our guests, as well as creating exciting job roles for new team members.
